Hi, we’re Nothing But Roaring
Officially founded in 2022, Nothing But Roaring was born out of the Covid-19 lockdowns in 2020, when a group of community actors were looking for a creative outlet while we couldn’t leave our homes!
Now our mission is to create quality audio theatre for everyone.
Everything kicked off with the launch of our first production, Much Ado About Nothing in Sep 2022, with our second production, Richard III in July 2023.
In October 2024, we released a limited audio drama – Promises – through Royal & Derngate, Northampton’s GenFest Artist Development festival.
What’s in a name?
Nothing But Roaring comes from Shakespeare’s A Midsummer NIght’s Dream, said by Quince, the leader of the Mechanicals who are rehearsing a play to perform at the wedding of Thesus and Hippolyta.
QUINCE Snug the joiner, you the lion’s part.—
And I hope here is a play fitted.
SNUG Have you the lion’s part written? Pray you, if it
be, give it me, for I am slow of study.
QUINCE You may do it extempore, for it is nothing but
roaring.
